The breath taking Northern coast line of Portrush saw the first members trip after COVID return to where it all began in Northern Ireland. Chris landed in Belfast a couple of days early to meet with the golf clubs and lifestyle partners in this incredible city, which was the launch place of Privatus back in 2018. The corporate member was Oil Brokerage, a great group of guys who no matter what was thrown at them this weekend, they were going to play every last hole of golf. The trip started at the fabulous Portstewart where the hospitality from Judy and her team went way above and beyond, given the COVID restrictions in place. Saturday was 27 holes at the sometimes forgotten Castlerock but after experiencing the very testing 9 hole Ban course before playing the impressive Championship course, Privatus will certainly be adding Castlerock to our portfolio of courses. The host club of the 2019 Open Championship, Royal Portrush, you could say we had saved the best for last and despite the weather being at its worst, the course was certainly out of this world. The evening activities were taken care of by the owner of the Ramore restaurants in the town, who simply made the impossible for our group possible and really helped make the experiences off the golf courses as good as those on it. A somewhat emotional return to the club that was the first ever to join Privatus but more so the first time Chris had been back to Royal Portrush since the secretary for over 30 years, Wilma, had retired. October will see the announcement of some major new plans for Privatus and as long as the Coronavirus behaves itself, its going to be a very busy end to 2020.
