The anticipation of this particular Open Championship at the awe inspiring Royal Portrush golf club and played on the breathtaking Dunluce Links golf course, was one that Privatus Club had been looking forward too for many years, seeing many friendly faces from Northern Ireland and saying a few emotional farewells.  Having been over 60 years since the Open was last played in County Atrim and it being the final farewell to the clubs infamous and hugely influential Club Secretary, Wilma Erskine, it was a Championship fit for the fairy tale ending it deserved, with a home winner in Shane Lowry.  As the first ever golf club Privatus worked with and founded the concept with the help of Wilma, it was both fitting and a personal privilege for our club founder Chris, to share the experience with her in what was her final days work at the club.  The magic of the golf course still lives on and when visiting Northern Ireland, the trip to the iconic coastal Giants Causeway is an absolutely must.
